AP09 Art: Traveling Observer

When I first took on this badge, I’d casually expected the subject to be Ginko, from Mushishi, since I hadn’t seen much of Kino’s Journey. I saw one episode of it on the Anime Network a few years ago, and there was snow, and human trafficking, and rabbits being skinned, and I think the motorcycle talked, so that’s how much I know about it.
Kino’s Journey has a specific look to it, like many newer anime do, so it was fun doing the base coloring and such, and then using adjustment layers to achieve the muted colors. I also found a lovely image to use as a reference:
