Alex Heberling

My second AP badge is Dai Gurren Dan, a reference to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan.  Unsurprisingly, I have not seen TTGL either, but after watching a bunch of clips of it when I prepared to draw this badge, I think I might actually have to check it out.  I don’t generally like mecha series, so you can see how compelling it appears to be otherwise.

I basically used the character Kamina as the basis for Penny in this design.  The art itself was generally referred to as “badass.”  ^_^
