The T-Shirt

I finally got a large-format picture taken of it, so here it is.  This is the shirt I took with me to Connecticon last year.  Click through to see the annotations on Flickr, and full list of signatures.

The first two signatures on this were Scott McCloud and Jeff Smith, who I saw at OSU in spring of last year.  I’d recently gotten the t-shirt from my then-new workplace, the Cartoon Research Library, and I’d kept forgetting to take it out of my bag when I got home, but that worked out to my advantage since I had something for the two of them to sign during the autograph session after the lecture.

Then I worked up the nerve to hand Scott McCloud my business card.  I figured if I could do that, then I could do the same for the 25-odd webcomic people when I got to Connecticon.

Since I’m hoping to register as a webcomic guest myself this year, I’m torn between wanting to keep this forever for my own collection, and auctioning it at the webcomic auction at the convention, for charity.  It really is a great item.  Either way, any new webcomics at CTCon, or ones there from last year that I missed, will definitely get a visit from me to sign the shirt.
